Patriotic Concert 2015

Marine flag with bandWe hope you will join us for the opening of our 37th season of music and fun for the Lakeland area.

The annual Salute to Veterans concert will be held on November 15, 2015 at the Youkey Theatre at The Lakeland Center.  Doors open at 1:30, pre-show at 1:45, and the band concert begins at 2:30.

Cadets from the Lakeland High School JROTC will present our United States and Florida flags, as well as the individual military service flags from both the United States and Canada.

The pre-show will feature the return of singer Ken Brady. Ken was lead singer for The Casinos, a doo-wop group from Cincinnati. Their hit single “Then You Can Tell Me Goodbye” reached #6 in the Top 40. Ken Brady’s Casinos continue to perform hits from the 50s and 60s nationwide.

Dedicated to the memory of John Duarte and Al Gable. John and Al both played trumpet with the band for many years. We will miss them!

Honor Flight

Lakeland Concert Band at Honor Flight at sunsetFor the last several years, we have had the wonderful opportunity to help honor veterans participating in the Honor Flight as they return to Lakeland.

Honor Flight Network is a non-profit organization created solely to honor America’s veterans for all their sacrifices. We transport our heroes to Washington, D.C. to visit and reflect at their memorials. Top priority is given to the senior veterans – World War II survivors, along with those other veterans who may be terminally ill who have not yet visited their memorial.
