Jim Jackson, Associate Conductor

Jim Jackson conducts LCB supporting Polk County Veteran’s Flight to Honor April 2025

Jim Jackson has been a member of the Lakeland Concert Band for 17 years. During that time he has been Guest Conductor at various concerts and served as conductor of the summer band and the Licorice Sticks clarinet ensemble. 

Jim received a BA degree in Music Education from Florida Southern College and began a career as band director at high and middle schools in North Carolina and Florida.

After retiring as an Operator Trainer for Publix, Jim began performing at Lakeland Regional Medical Center, which he continues to do today.  In addition to serving as Associate Conductor, Jim remains as principal clarinet and Concertmaster of the Lakeland Concert Band. He lives in Lakeland with his pet Yorkie, Diva.
